im asking for a friend of mine who is a little shy about posting himself.
He has problems now since he went over a speed ramp a little too fast which caused the rear headrests, roll bars, to shoot up, due to this the roof and windows will not function and it seems to be causing the battery to drain very rapidly although that might be unrelated.
Short of going to a dealer to sort out the headrests and hopefully everything else is there a self cure solution anyone can suggest.
Thanking all you experts in advance for any advice you can give.

Well he has triggered safety systems , what does the owners manual say about resetting ? If it doesn't say anything he would be better going to an MB Indy , which will be much cheaper

You need to look under the car, maybe the safety switch that works with the safety bar has broken . Only a guess

On the W208 CLK, you need to press and hold the "headset down" adjustment button on the dash. After a few seconds, it should make a clunk from the back and start retratcting the headrests/rollbar.

We have tried that and no luck at all, we have tried holding it in position up and down for 20 seconds and not a movement or noise.

In that case, the adustment mechanism has an issue. Check the fuses etc for normal function.

The switch is under rear off car, when one off the wheels axles lifts of the ground it makes contact and sets the bar of.

Hi, I'm having the exact same problem with my car, which is exactly the same as yours! I have tried everything i can and holding the reset headrest switch to reset it and, its not working at all! When I switch the car on to 2nd position or switch the engine on its just a solid red light that on the roof switch that goes off straight away! It's not flashing or anything. It makes a noise when you press the headrest switch like a clicking but, it won't reset the headrests. So any information on any how to options would be much appreciated. Thank you

You can try pressing the up button on the rollbar u til you hear a click, then press down and they should drop.

If not, the mechanism needs looking at.

Pull the seat out and pull the panel behind the seats out and the mechanism is there :)
