What did he do? It says it has Ceramic Brakes!!!!!
He did a H&R spring upgrade, I can't find the thread as the search function is still restricted :(

Interesting question...

Depends on how much you have to spend as per above. Go for a later R171 with the M272 engine (V6 3 or 3.5ltr) then you don't get the simplex chain issues you get with the M271 (SLK200). Also if post 2008 then VED is reduced as they dropped the emissions on the V6 :)

The V6 3ltr SLK280 is nicer than the SLK350 because it comes on 16" wheels, the SLK350 is very uncomfortable in comparison having tried both.

Also get one with heated seats and airscarf - great time of year to buy one as prices are lower when the suns not shining :)
Thanks. Brilliant

No :(, there's a picture of Olly driving it on the track. Autumn last year was the post IIRC
Sorry should have read it.. I’ll have a further look...I do recall the picture now you mention it!

Diesel convertible.....are you mad! :)
Mercedes wouldn't put the diesel engine into a convertibuble for the UK market until Audi started selling them. I've had many a diesel and loved them dearly. However the petrol V6 in my SLK sounds great on full chat :D

I'm sure I contain madness buddy . But it's MB that build them and put the engines in them :D , I wasn't consulted by them over the diesel convertible side of things

It sounds better than a Standard SL500 exhaust (I drove an SL500 to Le Mans last year with an AMG engine) and the V6 sounds better :).

I'd seriously try a few and see what the management like, especially the wheels, (18" AMG's look great but don't last long on our roads and are uncomfortable to say the least). They all look great, I really like the "SLS" fronted R171 (which is why I have one...). The R170 is getting a bit long in the tooth now and the R172 is too much like an R230 SL for my liking.
