Hi all,

My name is Chris, I'm part of the team on BBC Top Gear. I've just been in contact with Mark Sykes who passed me on to the forum. I'm in need of some assistance in sourcing a C63 AMG Saloon for a shoot we have next week and wondered whether any of the lovely Mercedes Club members can assist?
We're in need of the car for a shoot which will be taking place at our Dunsfold track on either Tuesday 23rd or Wednesday 24th (TBC) and unfortunately Mercedes can't provide a car at the current time.

If you do own a W205 C63 AMG Saloon please message me directly where I'd be happy to talk details further.

Thank you for your time and for welcoming me in to the club.

Chris

Given that long term viewers will be familiar with how TG treats cars I wonder whether there will be any response.:p

Weirdly, everybody (pretty well) wants to be on telly and they want their cars, bikes, houses and boats to be on telly. People who work in telly are the striking exception.

I always remember how TG wrecked an extremely valuable race Jaguar.

If I had one I’d lend it to the show, TG tend to treat the manufacturers cars harder because they can and have contracts to say within reason do what you want with it, no so much with general public cars, they do take care of them as they can’t afford to replace it for a viewer plus the press would be all over it

Fifth Gear seemed to look after AMGeed's E55

They did. It was driven with respect by VBH.
I'm unsure that would happen with a C63 on Top Gear.

Wasn't the case with the valuable Jag though and yes the press did get all over it.

Maybe but they have permission of the owner to drive it hard, the car was repair st the cost of the bbc to better than it was received by them. The car also wasn’t wrecked, it did need new. Lunch and drive shaft but it wasn’t written off or trashed beyond repair as some would like to believe

No it wasn't written off, but if TG were prepared to treat a valuable car like that and damage it to such an extent that repairs were necessary you can imagine how they might treat something else. Some might be quite happy to hand over their cars I wouldn't and I don't think I would be losing out by not doing so. Each to their own I guess.:D

Bring back Clarkson, Hammond & May. I haven't watched an episode since.

They are back, see them on Grand Tour. Pretty much a clone of Top Gear only not as watchable

Then you've missed some good car related telly - last series was very enjoyable
I know I know but I really enjoyed the other show. I still watch the repeats on Dave. I'm not a fan of the new presenters. I'd love to see the ratings since them 3 went. I just think it was a petty thing to get the sack for. Folk get smacked in the chops everyday where im from.
