Erm... more powerful at a guess!!I'm intrigued to know how the extra power feels.
Good to knowAnthony often goes to Clevedon so you should time it well
Yep, you'll void it if you don't update your policy. I delayed mine being done this year as my policy would have been at least £1100 and not £480. mental, last year I could have increased power by 20% and only paid an extra £200. If your online, there is a section on Modifications, then there are sub-sections, one of them is engine ECU management I think, you tick the box, some companies will ask for the power increase.Anyone know what the insurance implications are? Do you have to notify them?
Just want to make sure I keep legal
Depends on percentage increase I believe, best thing is to give your insurer a bell and ask what it means for your premiumAnyone know what the insurance implications are? Do you have to notify them?

I was hoping mine was the same and I could have just added it in. I could always contact them and see what the additional costs would be?My 63 cost me an extra £50 to cover an ‘up to’ 20% increase in power bhp, and I’m sure it was ‘about that’- honest
Some are Andy, I’m with Churchill and that’s their policy, some won’t accept increases at all. Yes, better to clarify it before committing yourself...I was hoping mine was the same and I could have just added it in. I could always contact them and see what the additional costs would be?
I did try Churchill John, but they fairly pricey for me. My fault really with having only one years NCD and three points! Some are Andy, I’m with Churchill and that’s their policy, some won’t accept increases at all. Yes, better to clarify it before committing yourself...
They’ve been surprisingly consistent for me over the past 5 years, but yes I hear you! My only irritation is that they can only give me max NCD on one of my cars which I find entirely stupidI did try Churchill John, but they fairly pricey for me. Thanks Steve, I'll get back to you.Capra:
All I can tell you so far is that it's fairly painless (takes a coupkle of hours and doesn't cost a fortune) and my early observations are that it is worth doing. Driving home in unfamiliar roads I tended to stick to the speed limits (don't know where the cameras are). Once on the Motorway, the acceleration was certainly impressive - but it was always pretty good. Now I'm back in my hometown, I can compare performance on roads/routes I use regularly and will report on that shortly.
I did it because I could and figured it was an interesting mod to the car. Certainly hasn't negatively impacted on fuel consumption (managed 50.5 mpg on the return trip).
If you#re thinking of doing this and want to know cost/benefit, happy to share my experience.
Regards
Steve
