So this seems like a silly question but I am rightly confused.

Owners manual on S212 E350 says fuel filter needs changing around now. The service history from MB dealer has a comment of "declined fuel filter change", which makes it sound like customer decided against a replacement.

Online car parts companies don't list the E350 CGI in the compatibility lists and MB Newcastle have said "none fitted".

WIS shows part A2214700259 for the M272 but when I filter by my model / engine on online stores, nothing is returned?

Surely all cars needs a fuel filter?

The filter on these is part of the delivery module on the LH side of the fuel tank.

On your car, its specified to be replaced every 155,000 miles or 15 years.

Thanks Alex, is this a big job? Looks like it will need doing?

Seat base out and its in the top of the tank. Not too bad, just need to make sure the tank is mostly empty. You may be surprised at the cost of the delivery module though.

Ok thanks. Will keep it in mind.

Pricewise, ouch.. I guess that is why it was declined by a previous owner.

Very easily achieved :eek::)

i just found this cool video on how a fuel delivery system works (in general). Other might be curious.

I am now afraid to get a OE quote for this unit considering all that is inside.
