Hi the fuel pump on my 1985 500SL (European car) has seized from lack of use. Can you tell me the correct pressure in bar please. I have been offered two different pumps from retailers.
4 bar and 6.5 bar. Many thanks

Is there a part number on the pump?

I would say 4 bar is correct but checking for the part number on the pump will confirm.

Have not removed the old pump yet. I couldn’t see anything on it however.
I will prob go for the 4 bar and then there’s no chance of breaking anything.

If you have the VIN it may be easier to find out. Part is possibly: A 003 091 53 01
Googling that part no it appears to be 4 bar.

OE part no. 002 091 9701

Shows a few different options so should be fine
