Bit of a run, only got a little damp with the top down. Bright sun again now so going out again :D

Luggage for 3 weeks (although with this lot I could stay away indefinitely)

1 x 61ltr, 2 x 44ltr, laptop bag and bag of fruit / snacks. I’ve also 3 jackets and some small tools in the boot. All fits under the boot separator so “taps arf”

Plenty of space in an R171 :)

Thats quite a lot in a small car buddy , did you buy the bags specifically to fit the available space ?

I didn't - they're Jura off-shore bags made by Montrose Rope and Sail I really can't recommend them enough. Very strong, pretty much waterproof (ideal for an SL or SLK...) - made in Scotchland

I don't mind paying, I don't like paying twice :)

On a slightly related note I also use Keela Outdoor Clothing - its not a fashion brand, the logo is almost invisible - however if you're after proper outdoor clothing that works and lasts for years then again I can't recommend them enough.

Nothing folded in half!, the 61 ltr bag fits longitudinal with the 2 x 44 ltrs next to it. I've another 61 ltr which I could put on the right with a 44 ltr in the middle but don't need to carry that much stuff.

Having spent >30 years packing bags I'm pretty adept at it... keeping clothes flat and breakables safe and unbroken:).

if you can get a finger nail into any scratch it wont buff out , you could still try a Lacquer pen though , fill it in before you resort to painting ?

Cleared the EML on the dash of the 500 with my £10 OBD reader. Gosh who would have thought this cheap reader could do this kind of thing on a Mercedes.
It showed 4 codes, all relating to each Cat....So erased, now good again :D
Mine you this is the second time the EML has come on, I used the same reader last September, but can't remember the fault.

Drove around the Dordogne with the roof down at 31 degrees , its hot hard work , but a swim in the river Lot helped :D
Wish I were over there at the moment Wighty. Our place is not too far from the Dordogne.

Looking good my fellow E class buddy (i know , i know , you have a bigger engine !) . What did you use to polish them ? :D

Thank you kind sir:D

I used 2000 grit wet and dry with water lubricant followed by low speed drill/attachment and the Meguiars Headlamp polishing kit. It comes up well but isn't really noticable until the clear laquer that is supplied is sprayed on.
The kit is around £17 from Halfords.
To be fair, I think the same finish can be achieved just using the wet and dry paper followed by a good polish and sealing with clear laquer. Took about an hour including masking the lights.
