Jacking up my ML

Hi,

Planning on painting my calipers, got some silver paint, wire brush and a dremel with loads of mini wire brushes. I've purchased one of the rubber jacking pads for Mercedes that I can use on the trolley jack.

Just wondering what's the best place to put an axel stand in case the trolley jack fails.(It doesn't have a flat top)

Ordered a couple of chocks from amazon as well, so including the one in the boot I'll be using 3.

DON'T Support the car on those steel plates that look a lot like Jacking points (to the rear of the lower wishbones)......guess how I know?

If you're just looking for "failsafe" backup, put the axle stands at one end or the other of the bottom wishbones (whatever is more horizontal).

Wouldn't jack up the car this way, but it's fine for a safe backup.

And the other thing I always do when you take the wheel off to do the calipers is to put the wheel under the sill as a belt and braces..

Thx for replies. Job done now.

Jacking pad was from ebay seller as per the link posted above. Fit perfect in the sill jacking points.

Managed to place axel stands under some suspension components front and back. Thick metal and looked very strong not sure of name.

I thought about the wheel after seeing a previous post about this, but it wouldn't go under was to fat.
