Can't say I've seen too many E500 Coupe's on my travels.

This one has the later 4.7ltr V8, low mileage and nice colour / interior - no comment on the price as I've no idea on what the going rate is. No MOT since March so they might do a deal* :)

*No I'm not in the market but always looking :D:p

That has been for sale for yonks , if it's the one on AT I saw when I looked for a friend 6 or more months ago (can't be many that colour)

Check when it was last taxed (a clue) and bargain hard if interested.....

holy crap !:shock::shock: , 4k too dear imo , no wonder its not sold
Think it's at a "premium" because of the 4.7 rather than 5.5 ltr engine (or at least that's what they'll be saying...)

more than likely but the fact of the matter is at that price bracket a CL500 would be my choice , yes its a lovely looking car but there are 100's of E class coupes out there . . . . . . .

2011 E class coupe 350 CDI
agreed but they all look pretty much the same pal
Probably only the 4 tail pipes
the difference, visually that is.
BUT the engine! Now that's a different matter.

That’s what I’d like about it, great street sleeper

Mine has 2 rectangular tailpipes.
What I like about it is that it doesn't stand out in a crowd & mine is debadged.
Before I retired I worked away from home & stayed in small hotels or B & B's,parking on the street a lot of the time so the anonymity was welcome.
The only clue that it is a 5.5L,apart from the noise,is in the reg plate.

Hi, I have the next generation of this blue car. Mine is the 125 year anniversary version in Palladium with the second generation MMI (command) and dash screens, panoramic roof and a few option boxes ticked. You cannot compare these coupes to the 5.5 naturally aspirated - this is the 4.7 Twin Turbo V8 with 408hp and 600Nm of torque. They are monstrous to drive. 0-62mph in around 4.6 seconds, and tyre selection is key on these as they tend to break traction pretty easily.

I need to correct bembo449 as although there may be hundreds of E coupes, in the E500 with the 4.7 TT V8 engine - only 11 were made, with only 9 left in the UK (according to howmanyleft.co.uk) and the engine was used just prior to the S63 coupes as a Mercedes run-out variant of the E500 C207 just before the next coupe facelifts which only ever came out with an E400 version.

I'm putting a few pics of my beast up. I'd say the value of these sits between £16k and £22k depending on which edition you can get your hands on. It's definitely a 911 beater and still practical to put two adults into the back seats - as well as two suitcases in the boot.

Nice, the only way I can see it beating a 911 though is in lower purchase price

I did the switch from a 911 to this coupe. You can get 2 adults into the back, so it beats the 911 - its also quicker - maybe not against a Turbo or GT series...

I used to get 2 x 6’2” adults in the back of a 911 :D I found you always could get willing passengers :p. There’s not a 2 wheel drive Mercedes built that can put the power down like a 911, nor go round the corners...

re: handling, power down and general vibe of lifting off and using weight as a weapon, yep, I agree, you are bang on... although when I squeezed adults in the back, I was about 3mm away from my chin being on the steering wheel! Still, it might be my age, but I'm finding the change a lot easier to live with - and the extra funds from that change went into another classic restoration - if I tried doing it without this fund redirection, the mrs would explode!
