Enjoyed driving it after a week in a Pug 308 SW Manual driving around Portugal,

Have to say though the Pug has a massive boot in comparison to my W204 and the reversing camera was excellent but manual gearboxes should be consigned to history

Just had the tracking done on the CLK , to finish off the new control arms, track rods , front discs and pads and all four calipers overhauled with new Pistons and rubber seals .
Also Gearbox ATF change and engine oil and filter change with new central exhaust bracket .
All in the last 2 weeks
Phew ! Now for the E class .

They are truly terrible, I do live by the best 500m of tarmac in Torbay though
And here I was hoping for a pint with you last week too...!

Well...

A week last Friday we drove down to Devon. Journey was split at Gloucester stopping overnight, leaving us 140 miles to do on Saturday morning... those 140 miles took us 6.5hrs to do.

Driving to the site we approached down the narrow lane, to be met by a variety of oncoming vehicles including but not limited to cars, buses, wagons etc.

The site- Caravan Club own site, but with some non-club guests staying there of less than desirable type. I’m not being snobby here, their children behaved despicably culminating in 3 families being physically removed from site by the Police for disruptive behaviour.

Weather was highly changeable varying from 25 C and bright sunshine, to 15 C and 60mph winds. I ended up tying the awning to the caravan chassis with spare storm straps in the end...

Driving around the area ranged from pleasant to beautiful, to grim to ****** horrific. Coming over a humpback bridge to a hairpin leading to a 1 in 5 gradient, with a 6 car convoy behind, and meeting a rough terrain 7 ton cantilever fork truck coming downhill the other way really stands out in my memory!

I’ve not yet filled up but the return journey clocked in at 286 miles, 41mph and 21.0mpg.

Needless to say l won’t be taking the caravan down to Devon in a hurry!

That’s more like it!

We were between Paignton & Stoke Gabriel, very beautiful countryside but no place for an R Class I have to say!

Welcome to Devon! :D Still... Good news that you'll leave the tuppervan behind next time!

Sod's law, I'm in Topsham on Wednesday getting my 6-monthly bump-squeeze & finger jab done... once I've finished fainting, I may well need a beer!

Every 6 months, they extract blood and make sure the gentleman jewels are facing the right way... apparently this determines my fitness to fly!

Oh... And then they extract somewhere between £150-£280 for the pleasure!

Put like that... I may need two beers! o_O
