Anyone care to take a guess on what the below is?

Can't say as I've ever seen one before (and no @davidsl500 it's not what Google thinks it is:p)

Nope, although it does have some age
Some horrendous British glassfibre-shelled sports car of the 60s which saw a highly problematic production run numbering well into the dozens?

Automotive Design and Development Ltd (ADD) was an English company responsible for the creation of the futuristic-looking Nova kit car. It was based in Southampton from 1971 to 1973 after which it moved to Accrington, Lancashire until 1975. ADD failed and the rights to the Nova were bought by Nova Cars in Mirfield, West Yorkshire in 1978, which continued until 1990. A low volume production run was made by Nova Developments in Cornwall in the 1990s and the company was sold to India-based Aerotec Nova around 1996.

In NZ it was called a Purvis Eureka (@00slk may well remember them as there was one used for rallies).

There's a clip on YouTube of it crashing at the Riverhead rallysprint.

Quite unusual as the entire roof, windscreen and door section lifts as a single piece on gas struts.

It was, realised it was some form of kit with the 4 wheel bolts, funnily it was turning off towards Southampton which is where it was originally from :D

@Blobcat I wasn't go to say it was a Lambo Miura . In the late 80's I actually went to look at a Nova in the Notts area when I was looking for something to mess about with. Unfortunately the plonker that had built it, or rather nailed it together badly, had not lowered the floorpans 2" on the donor beetle chassis as is the necessity unless you are a shortarse. As per LK the roof and side sections were hinged and unless I tilted my head 45 degrees to the side, the roof wouldn't shut.. Can't really drive like that. I only considered the Nova as it was VW based and at the time I was UK National Accounts Manager for a VW/Audi parts specialist so could get anything needed at the right price.

In the end I bought a lotus 7. Made much more sense..

I had one of those when I was in my early 20's, it only had a 1 Ltr 'K' series lump in it , well 998cc actually, but was still a lot of fun. :D I don't even think I could get in or out of one now LOL
