You should have done a thread with pics buddy ! Top job thoughYesterday I thought I would clean the Funbus out. It’s had fairly heavy usage over the last month or so- usual to-ing and fro-ing, a week away with the kids in the caravan (6 seats filled) and a long weekend away (5 seats filled).
Well. I started at 1330..........
4 bowls of hot water with Persil in later, all carpets, seats (fronts, backs, undersides, down the sides) and trim was clean and actually black again- as was the water in the bowl!
A bin bag was half filled with rubbish from under the middle and rear rows of seats. The vacuum cleaner, a Henry was almost burnt out trying to suck up crumbs, rubbish and God only knows what else from awkward spots like the sides of seat runners.
€1.00 and £0.21 recovered from previous owners. I also found that I have a collapsible spare wheel (I just thought it was knackered so had carried the old one out of the 211!) and a folding cargo/ dog net in the tool bay- this explains why what I thought were coat hooks are so rubbish- they’re to clip the net to.
Trick discovered- using one of those fingernail scraper tools and a damp cloth over the top, held together it fits very neatly between trim panels to remove the awkward bits of cack that one can never seem to attack, without running the risk of scratching anything.
Kids car seats came out. Middle child had spilt Coca Cola in hers two weeks ago apparently. Who would’ve thought that it starts to smell very strongly of fish in that time? Well, it does... so the seats were brought into the kitchen, stripped to the frames, upholstery in the wash and the bare frames antibacced then scrubbed.
Car was finished at 1800hrs. Car seats at 2330hrs by the time they were fully dry.
All that and I’ve still got the outside to wash and wax!
