Tailgate trim clip.

Hi Folks.

Had to take the trim off the tailgate on the 2004 c class estate to get to one of the number plate lights.. There are two metal clips at the top of the trim panel, one of which has taken flight to a land unknown. Any one know where I can either get an exploded view of the tailgate to get the part number or who might stock such a small item?

Best to post up a picture . I have lots of clips for Mercedes to many to know the location on every model .

This is the remaining clip. I think there were more than two originally as there are similar places for eight along the top where the tailgate trim goes in.. Merc dealership don't have any and want £1.50 each to order them up.

No the 2nd picture was fine ,i did look but all mine are plastic clips . Pop in to a breakers yard or the dealers, .

It will help if some member can put oldjohnny out of his misery . Diagram needed of the tailgate or a parts list or even better provide a clip .My search provided nothing that looks like it . Even used a Google picture image search .

Many thanks but that site is blocked by my computer because of a suspicious top level domain, whatever the hell that means.

I have managed to get a copy of the diagram in question. Number 120 seems to be the clip I need. Would you believe £1.50 each to order with Mercedes, and then the vat. Might just glue the barsteward into place! Thanks again to Dreamer NO2 and your self for all the help.

Johny looks like the best bet is dealers .And owners of Mercedes should never cut corners on spare parts so go and get a clip and do the job right .. Not that expensive .
