Not a thing wrong with the GLA but an Evoke caught my eye.

Though it is really the wifes car, I think the time may have come to go for a more "traditional" SUV.

I while ago a friend had one and I recall the cabin being a very nice place to be.

Any thoughts on Evokes?

I would go for a 66 plate or slightly earlier to get the facelift model and as Road tax is a whopping £465 a year for any later models that had a list price over 40K which all the nice ones were

A friend had one which they agreed Land Rover would take back due to the issues...

Awful awful cars, get a Discovery sport much nicer on the eye and much more practical.

The boot on a Evoke is slightly smaller than the average ashtray...

A colleague of mine has one, it is a '68 Diesel auto, don't know what model. He swapped his 3.0s XF in for it and he loves it. So far no issues

They had the engine out due to a balance shaft issue, brake issues and lights that were random in operation.

Always thought of it as the car for somebody desperate to own a RR but cannot afford a Sport!
And the sport is a Discovery in a different dress...

If you want a Range Rover buy a Range Rover.

Victoria Beckham has something to do with the Evoke which pretty much kills it dead

We know a guy that is a real poser - every holiday, restaurant etc in FB. Wears his rugby shirts with the collar turned up and all his clothing is knock-off from the markets......etc - drives an Evoque........not for me.:)

I don't have much interest in them - and I didn't know that! The new Discovery looks like the original Toyota FT and just as ugly.

And the new Defender is even worse, don't know what JLR are thinking of :eek:

I actually don't mind the new defender (in 3 door form at least) and the Discovery Sport looks quite nice in my view.
Best looking Land Rover product is definitely the Velar in my opinion.

Land Rover peaked with the SIII 88” everything after that was a retrograde step :(

Nope. FC101 was the best. The lightweight next best.
I agree the FC101 looks the best but it is somewhat compromised on driver and passenger comfort/space.

Perhaps I'm thinking of the Defender - who knows??

The last LR I drove was a 1952 4 cyl diesel owned by my dad. We did a few trips to the Okavango Swamps (late 60s) in it! And were able to do bush repairs and keep it running without too much difficulty.

I managed fine with mine and I'm not exactly small...
“Managed” being the operative word... :D

Never issued directly to the great unwashed because of the severely compromised driving position. I’d have one tomorrow given the folding

Snap, I swapped my 3.0s XF for the Evoque 2.2 Dynamic 2013 which had the Brabus/Startech treatment.

Lovely cabin, good spec, but lousy performance, developed a bit of a gearbox delay at roundabouts.

Even with the black wheels, spoiler and tints it was still perceived as a bit of a girly car as even a member of the public pointed out to me when I pulled up outside a Restaurant one evening.

Mine was reliable over 18 months of ownership but I really missed the performance of the Jag.

Lol I used to think that about those with a Sport when I owned a Vogue, then ended up with an Evoque.
