I bought my i980 from Amazon over year ago, but be aware the one I purchased came in German language and you have to do a software update to the device iirc to change to language to English. This may have changed since that but just making OP aware.
P.S just noticed in above link posted by Tony Dyson, the i980 I own seems to be the older version now to avoid any confusion I may have cast

A question for any experts in icarsoft.
Just got around to connecting it to the car and found on the auto search it found only the ECU and TCU the other units don't appear on the list and I can't access them from the manual menu.
I've updated the software again and still the same.
Anything suggestions?

Yes, W203, c180 kompressor, saloon, petrol,then only choice I get is W203 up to the 10(I think) 2003 and from 10 onwards.

Spot on!
Went back a model and all functions as it should.
Scary, read and cleared about 14 years of historic faults. I feel I could do a lot of damage with a machine like this. I'll take it in easy steps.
