Brand new to this forum, if this is already a topic, I apologize. I looked for something related and was unsuccessful.
A few weeks ago I bought a 2007 E320 with 177k miles. It is very clean inside and out, with all the maintenance records. I’m about 2,000 miles into owning the car (I got an oil change the day I purchased it). While driving down the highway the other day, I simultaneously got a check oil level at next fill up and check engine light. I immediately stopped in the next town and checked the oil; I was a quart low. Filled the oil and checked the code when I got home. The code was for the mass airflow sensor (I assume they are the sensors that are in the plastic tube going to the turbo). I removed the double ended air tube in hopes to remove and clean them out. After removal I realized that is not an option. In the tube I noticed a trail of oil going from the pcv (hockey puck) through the hose and into the tube. After researching and since I do not have oil leaking or showing in any way, I decided that the pcv is probably bad, and possibly as a result it dirtied up my MAF’s inside the tube. I went to the dealer today to buy both, I think it is a good sign that when I first brought up buying the tube they suggested buying the hockey puck as well which I was going to do anyways.
Has anyone delt with a similar issue, if so thoughts on what I chose to replace? Is there ANYTHING else I should look at/ check. That seemed like a lot of oil going into the turbo over a relatively short time. Is there anything I should be concerned about happening as a result of what happened? Thanks for the help in advance
