Hi all, sl350 r320 with Abs etc dash lights on. After having it “starred” by a recommended Indy on here, points to Rear Abs Sender. I used to be a mechanic in a previous life and do most of my own repairs and I’m very lucky to be able to! £475 per side! I appreciate they would want to use Merc Parts but a Sensor on a bit of Twin Wire to a Plug....over £100, pattern part £28. Pattern Ring is £8, dread to think what Merc would charge for that. 3 hours Labour per side at £75 per hour all plus VAT. Next week the big hammer is coming out and see how I get on! Wish me luck as I’m really to old to be doing these jobs at my age but..................

I've been hankering after a Ferrari California as possible future replacement for the SL. The only part bothering me was possible servicing costs using it as a daily driver. Turns out not much more than the servicing cost of the SL and a Ferrari specialist garage charging £90p/h!

How do MB dealers justify their rates?

Those big swanky merc dealerships have so many ppl in the back that need paying. then there are those out front. 20 odd mechanics..

i am 100% with you. however we seem to be in a minority, these days 1200 for a headlight!! yes headlight unit is not unheard of. then it lets moisture in to its pcb inhabited interior!! solution, mb replace diy, drill 2 holes in it,,,,! i am fairly progressive without wanting to reinvent the wheel, people just seem to accept that this is the norm today.i cannot so tend to rant on a bit about it . wot to do.

BUT.... you get a stencil and can put a AMG badge on top of the coffee. Must make you drink it faster. I had 5 drinks last time i was there I was getting my moneys worth.

actually when i went looking the ml i was surprised to find the coffee,bickies and service pretty good at a jag/landy dealer. tho i hope the previous owner did not find the LR better than the ml that would hurt

Part of it is that they have huge demands from MB as to their corporate image, ie showrooms and the like

If you have the money go for it, bear in mind, carbon ceramics will cost you approx £10k plus pads for the car. Steels are a lot cheaper.
