Hello All,

As some are already aware here, my car has gone down since July.
The TCU has burnt at 500km of my home during holidays !

I bought a new valve body/TCM (VGS2) in order to replace the old one (VGS1)

As you can see, valve body are pretty similar and I saw only one difference :

No difference on upper side.

I made some cleaning and changed one valve :

I also changed one solenoid.

Unfortanetly, when I refited the whole my benz refused to move.

I used DAS and no error code.

So i remove one time again the valve body and check again but I found nothing.

I will retry tomorrow with other solenoids...

Do you have any idea ?

May be hard to find your part,, but to just swap out a part that looks like the one removed just not on . Go by the part number on you old unit . Or find an equivalent part only ..can you get an error code from gearbox? i dont no if you can ..

Hello

No error code from mbstar.

I think the is issue is provided by a defective solenoid (k3) .

I will fit the valve body today. I will keep you in touch

Smart + others :)
It’s quite easy to misplace or leave out a tiny ball bearing or plastic valve flap, either will cause havoc.

Same result :/

I checked metal & plastic balls, solenoids valve had also tested and she doesn't want move...

I put 6L of ATF, it should be enough to move the car...

You need to start looking at which valves operate and at pressures inside the box.

Until you know you have oil pressure and that the correct clutches are operating you're pretty much scuppered.
I'm sure that information is available in the live data.

Hello All !

I have an update ! I made some test from mbstar and I made a range sensor adaptation.
When I did it i feel the transmission engaged but after the adaptation nothing changed...

I checked real time values and got :

prevu2.PNG
The programed gear was not the effective engaged gear for the TCM, so, I unplug the TCM from the harness and now the car is moving well ( but it should be in a limp mode)

So the issue is not coming from the valve body and i did not make a mistake ! But I have to solve a new problem, no error code from MBstar but I have in spare a Y3/8S1 sensor I hesistate to change it "in case of"

What do you think of that ?

I've no experience of the 722.9 but if I understand correctly the gear lever is in D whilst the box is actually in P and disconnecting the TCU allows the car to move.
I would suspect the unit at the gear lever.

Looked at a few youtube videos and I'm not sure if the ESM needs to be coded on your year of car.

On w209 esm no needs to be coded.
I will remove one more time the valve body ! I can do it bindfolded !
