Took the 55 to Mallory Performance to have its running issues checked over on the Dyno after intermittent power issues over the years. Now running like it did when I first purchased her close on 3 years ago. Fabulous :D

Also discovered the 55 is limited to 142 mph and not the standard 156 mph, I guess the first owner was a little shy
And the results.......

Considered putting a M113k in it as well Alex? Now that would be a very special car to keep

I only have so much free time :)

I current have on my list (of my own)
190E to finish a few odd and sods on.
600Sec to sort some play on the drive shaft and undercoating for winter.
W123 240D To do an engine swap on
The 116 really needs a good service of all fluids.
A Locost kit car to complete (along with removing the engine from the donor Mx5).

I do plan on doing an Om612/722.6 swap into the 123 at some point in the future.

What was causing the power issues?

340 WHP but healthy torque figures. Are you sure your IC pump is working, as the power figure should be closer to 400 at the wheels.

The guys didn't say anything about it, only that it pulled strongly. I can achieve more hp if the speed limiter was raised. Not sure what IC pump is

they should have run in third so that it didn't bump into the limiter (and used the tach pickup so the rpm was correct....)

The ic pump cools moves the coolant that cools the intake charge after it has been supercharged.

When they fail, they cause intake temperatures to sky rocket and the car pulls timing or cuts the supercharger completely. Both will result in much less power.

It was really only run up on the dyno to check if the power loss issues were still present Alex. It has been so intermittent for so long and trying to find someone to road test it was proofing hard . But I'm pleased to say that we have finally got it sorted.
However I have requested a quote for a remap on both the 55 and the SLK, just enquiring like......

Glad it all sorted.

Do make sure any underlying issues are sorted before mapping it though!

Thanks Alex.
They said that the SLK wont gain that much due to it already being 305 bhp but gives it a bit more drive-ability ;)

Yes that's true. You will get better throttle response and a small amount of extra power, but being naturally aspirated, it's going to be knock limited ultimately.

All the "likes" are very much appreciated folks! It makes it all worthwhile - Thank you....
I think it looks lovely. I'm sure you will get it even better when you get at it with polish and clay in the spring. (If you can wait that long).
