Welcome.

Loads of opinions on waxes - suggest a brief search, as the wax thing has been done to death on the forum.

Hi Alan, welcome to the forum. As Rory has said Wax has been done to death on here and I think it is very much something that you use that you yourself is happy with. Some of us just polish and some of us detail. Both of our opinions differ immensely. :)

Just like an oil or tyres thread, this needs a "popcorn - check, beer - check, armchair - check, TV remote - check" reply!!:D:D:D

I'm also just starting to use different waxes and have found Bilt Hamber Double Speed wax very good.
Available from Cleanyour car website.

As said, waxes and polishes are very much a personal choice after getting recommendations and trying them.

Even though it's been covered ad nauseam I thought I would just tell you what I use, and have used for a long time!

And it is AutoGlym Ultra High Definition Wax.

Just to give you an idea, I started with a clean car at about 12:45hrs. I have laid down the Wax all over the car in one go, including the Windows by about 13:30hrs. I left it to dry off for 30 minutes, (you can leave it shorter but longer the better) 14:00hrs I started to Polish it off. I was done and taking the photos in the attached post by 15:00hrs.....
It is so easy to use and gives good results..... So in less than 3 hrs job done! Including a Tea Break!

And this is a 20 year old car!!!

It's never ending Rory:D

Sadly - I'm always tempted to try the 'latest and greatest' which is why I have so much on my shelves. I'm now eyeing the new Turtle Wax range due for release here this month.

I have colinite and have used it. I also posted this thread which basically says the cheapest halfords car shampoo does an equally good job and in no time at all !

Personally I think people spending all day washing, waxing and "detailing" are just wasting their life and may have nothing better to do ! (time to hide from the fallout)

I will say im impressed that colinite is also suitable for waxing fine furniture, wood, steel, fibreglass and boats (not that I ever polish my boats)

+1 for AG HD, I've tried many waxes from very cheap to £76 for a 50ml tub (Swissvax Onyx), I come back to HD every time (but have not tried the UHD).

I also use DSW as it is easy to apply and lasts well for a reasonable price.
I only wax 3-4 times per year and use Sonax BSD after every wash which keeps the protection topped up.

This isn't for some garage queen BTW but just something to stop the 203 rusting away ;)

That's the one I use and am more than happy with the results and the ease of use :)
