Scraped it down one side on a post I somehow saw, but didn't think applied to me.

Teeth were sucked and things written on a form.

Gave the taxi a wash and top up of Poorboys Black Hole and a coat of Sonax BSD.
Finished with treating the tyres with Megs Endurance Gel tyre dressing.
That's two washes already this week:eek:. I need help. 20200206_155141[1].jpg

Not today, but I did give mine a treat of a tankful of V Power when I last filled up. It isn't a regular occurrence but I fell for all the hype about the detergents helping to keep engines clean so I do it occasionally.

Who knows what's best?

...I buy Redex diesel additive (or whatever brand's on offer from Costco) and it's fairly cheap but each time I fill 'er up and put in a measure of it, I feel as though I'm looking after my engine... But every so often I wonder if I've fallen for a snake oil trick (?)

Mind you, the car's a lucky 13 years old (2007 S203 Estate/Auto) and I quietly admit to giving it some "welly" every now and then so with 103K-ish on the clock it feels nicely run in now. So at my age (mid 70's) it will probably survive me and the boss and depending how expensive diesel fuel gets, my guess is that one of the 5 x grandkids will then be happy to grab it and run it until it's finished!

Sorry to read this. I've had one of those experiences, thankfully never repeated. No fun. You have my sympathy.

I fill up on the expensive stuff, though I've never noticed a performance benefit. My car pleases me so I'm trying to please my car - daft.

Lodged an insurance claim for the B Class for hail damage about 10 days ago and took it for an inspection yesterday. No windows damaged but every panel dinged and one tail light broken. Result - a write off, so now looking for a replacement. Unfortunately, Mercedes are not in the hunt as all in my price range have no spare tyres only repair goo, which is just not practical for driving in the country here, given the distances between tyre retailers and the poor condition of many of our roads.

That is a bit of a shame, I suppose the spare has to be a full size one too considering the distances you guys have too travel.

We are all very concerned over here in the UK about the bush fires around Melbourne and the news footage has sort of dried up over here. Interested to know how you guys are coping ??

Can't you "borrow" the spare out of your write off car on a permanent basis?
