I had same problem took out bulb and blowed dry it with hairdryer, was also a breather pipe providing airflow to inside of lens , poked wire in it to clear out,
been moisture free since
So am I right in assuming you only removed the bulb not the whole headlight??

Headlight removal very easy, I do it for fun !!!!!!!
1) open bonnet.
2) remove plastic headlight trim, carefully push clip end together so it unclips, swing it out and then carefully tease the end out.
3) remove top 10mm bolt( a tip is to mark the lugs position on body work so goes back in same place).
4) remove two lower 10mm nuts (an extension on the socket makes these easy)
5) remove headlight and lower carefully onto top of bumper. Remove three connectors ( they all have the little clip on side which needs releasing, small screwdriver helps)
6) lift away headlight.

As they say, fitting is reverse of removal. It's self explanatory when you start.
Thank you.

Epoxy resined a 10mm allen key socket into my front diff filler plug a couple of days ago and had another go at undoing the plug today,
Just twisted out ,no joy , I have previously refilled it from bottom plug with a pipe through a rubber bung and pumped it in from bottom, put a litre of gear oil in but lost some when pulling bung and fitting plug, so less than a litre, most posts just say fill till it comes out of filler hole, unfortunately I don't have this option, anyone know the specified quantity the front diff should take, worried I may not have enough oil in diff ?
I changed the rear diff oil at the weekend and it took 1.8ltrs. Although only1.1ltrs came out and no leaks but it was absolutely gunge that came out. I am changing the front diff oil on Sunday so will let you know the capacity.

Thanks, will have to have another go at getting fill plug out, depending on how much yours takes !

I have an inside area where I can work but the diff oil I ordered didn't arrive so it will be Wednesday before that wee job gets done.
I decided to follow the original posters lead and make a list of what to do lol. I live on the east coast so not had the worst of the storm.

Both mine are 1.1-1.3L ish
I used 1.8ltrs in the rear diff , filled until it started to flow over the fill hole. 1.1 ltrs was all that came out. Outside of the diff dry as a bone no leaks anywhere to be seen.

Half term ,kids and grandkids visiting and rain has put a stop to things, going to get some bumper filler today and hoping the sun might come out so I can get on with the bumper, no garage, only 2 very full sheds so fair weather required,

I know what you mean, all I have is a shed full of tools and a drive.
Wifes Mini has developed an oil leak which I have traced down to the vacuum pump, got the seals now, cleaned all the oil off the engine day before yesterday, if dry Saturday will strip down and fit new seals. I have a parasol that I sometimes put up to keep me a bit dryer, its an emergency type repair so has to be done.
Over last few months finding it a struggle to undo tight bolts, as now have really bad arthritis in my left hand, so much so I cannot apply pressure with it, bought a cheap rattle gun yesterday which may help, we will see. Doctor states only resolve is an operation, not keen as had so many of those to knees, back, chest etc, my hands were the only bit untouched by the knife !!!!!

Finally got around to doing a quick prime/colour and laquer, not brilliant but I am happy with it, and as the fuel consumption was a bit too juicy for me, have just sold car, now down to breaking the spare before it goes to the scrappy

Well done Vincent - I hope you enjoyed your project as we certainly enjoyed reading and seeing it. And while I hope you made a nice bit of dosh on the sale it's great to see a car like this given a second lease of life.

Cheers and here's to the next time!

Learnt a few things, did a couple of things I hadn't done before and covered all the costs(including mb11 and few other tools) and made a small amount ,well worth the experience and the car is going to Hungary tomorrow !
