Driving to the hospital today I noticed the headlight light to say the lights are on was on. Gee that's a mouthful o_O
Then I noticed that the headlight switch was off  Turned the lights switch on and then off, the light stayed on and when I got close to the car in front noticed my lights shining in there back doors.
When it was time to come home it was dark, the Missus collected the car from the car park and told me, 'yes your lights wont go out unless you turn the car off'. o_O Very bizarre  So she turned the lights on manually just in case they went out. The main switch??

Give it a wiggle. Try some contact cleaner on the switch.

there was a setting on my R Class dash cluster to set the headlights to be on all the time .... a kind of DRL setting for countries that required them .... maybe yours has too

Over the winter my switch is usually left on auto, but no setting on the dash or switch to leave on all the time, or not that I have found :D

2002, probably not as advanced as I would like it to be :) I haven't searched for the menu setting for a while, the only time I did this was when I was waiting for someone and had a play, I managed to restrict my speed setting to 140 and when it was dynoed it wouldn't managed its top speed  I have reset the speed to 150 now :D

My SL has the option to have lights on all the time in the computer settings.

Looks like I am going to have a look as soon as I am up and running again, but surely it shouldn't self set if it wasn't manually set?
