Good morning fellow members,

Had this gorgeous E63 AMG in last week which was new to the customer! Customer had been chatting with us over the last few months via Facebook just generally talking about what we recommend and examples of what we have done in the past.

Customer got to the workshop a good amount of time before the booking so we could use this time to remove a lot of heat. Vehicle performed a little stronger than we would expect and passed all of our physical checks.

Got to work and everything was brilliant! This is a very fine example indeed. We started our calibration process with many tests, sweep tests and steady state while monitoring everything.

It performed brilliantly and if I am honest we could have possibly gone a little further still but for the sake of a few bhp and nm's it really wasn't worth it at all! EGT's and IAT's are fantastic no need to push for the sake of pushing.

Gained +169bhp and +358nm so customer was over the moon!!!

Everything via OBD port no need for ECU removal.

Below are plots, shots and runs.

Many thanks

Anthony @ GAD

Even bigger gains than my remap, although mine was turned down for engine longevity.
Hope he has an LSD or it will just spin up unless the throttle is applied gradually.
LSD is indeed on the cards! But of course when things settle down lol

Oh yours was turned down? What did it make before it was turned down?

Many thanks

Turned down was probably the wrong phrase.
It was dynoed at 572bhp before the map was applied, and I expected around 700bhp. (From 550 stock according to Mercedes)
It made 666bhp and 1051 nM and the guy doing the mapping told me if I wanted 700 he could boost it a little more to give me 700 but preferred to leave the M157 engine around 660bhp to preserve the longevity of the engine.
Apparently there have been one or two highly tuned M157's with total engine failure down to the design of the head of the con-rods. Pre-detonation is the first sign something is wrong.

Obviously wanting to keep the engine in good shape, I was happy with 666. It certainly needs an LSD though but is an animal on hard acceleration. I thought my previous E55 was quick, but this is another level.:D

Oh I see ok yes sorry the way it was phrased I assumed incorrectly, I know that some very big powered ones 900bhp+ that all it takes is one detonation event and pop
