Hello and welcome

Try MB Grangemouth (tell them you’re part of the forum for discount) or ECP for a sale

Having had my fingers burned with pattern discs in the past I now always bite the bullet & buy OE ..... it can be cheaper in the end. ;)

No surprise then if as you say Textar are ECP owned they are top of thier list.

To the OP, go to MB and get original and ask for discount!

Got a full set of Brembo ready to go on the E class , with discount via ECP was £160 for all discs and pads . At the time MB with discount was £300+ .
CLK has been all Brembo for a couple of years , can’t fault them .
If I could afford the extra I would go MB , but there we go .

I don't think it's biast because Eicher
( ECP owned ) is at the bottom .

You usually pay a premium for genuine stuff even with discount , I rarely buy genuine as I find out who the OEM is
( Pierburg , Lemforder , Hella , SKF , etc) and buy the identical part cheaper , I've even bought stuff from ECP with the genuine part numbers scrubbed off
( VAG ) .

Last three sets of discs I've bought is Brembo

.... and my usual reply is that Heinz make HP beans but they're different from Heinz Beanz ;)

and they make Aldi/Lidl tomato soup .... no idea if it's different though :D

I bought mine from MB. Over £400 for the discs, pads, pins and wear sensors but not that much more than ecp.

That was for the front of our S211 E55, not too bad I thought. MB parts fit correctly making it an easier job and have the paperwork for my file should I ever sell it on.

If the OE number is scrubbed off how do you know its OE. Rejected as seconds I say.
Furthermore it might be scrubbed off because it doesnt meet spec of the brand (ie MB).

certain brands require a specific spec from the manufacture, FACT

Lol , nothing as sinister .

It's the multi level marketing of things , exactly the same but cheaper if you know !!

That's alot of inferior parts I've had fitted to cars now , snub mount , top mounts , front arb links without issue , some are getting on for 6 years .

Nismo ( Nissan ) use exactly the same OEM mould for a uprated gearbox mount for instance except a harder shore rubber compound is used.

Comes in a Nismo box , but exactly the same OEM part number .

R172 250CDI Gone..!, R129 SL500 Gone...
Out of interest, I have toured the Pierburg and LUK factories in Germany and the Aftermarket product comes off the same production line as the OEM - usually in the same production run. The Manufacturers logo / part number is ground off the aftermarket requirement before boxing in Pierburg or LUK Boxes.

You still have to be careful though as the chinese turn out counterfeit product for all sorts of Brand Names and grind certain area's to look like the OEM logo has been erased!

Incidentally, I've also been around the Brembo plant in Italy and the Lesjofors plants in Sweden... As well as car and commercial coil and leaf springs Lesjofors make just about every spring you can think of!
