Its been a peachy couple of days for drop top owners but the amount ive seen with roof up is astonishing
That’s because they don’t want to mess up their hair... I just don’t get why people buy them then don’t use them as intended. Perhaps they just like the cachet of having a drop top Mercedes o_O:confused:

My 272 miles yesterday was all top down and a lot of it side windows down as well :)

Had it's oil and oil filter plus air filter change / interim A service today. Took it for a spin when I picked it up just to check all was okay and I hadn't closed the boot separator so computer said no to roof down. Yes, I should have got out and closed the separator but I had left my cap at home and my head got enough Vitamin D the other day when I forgot it then. Instead I set the air con to 14C and got bugger all cold air. I suddenly realised that this was the first time I had moved it from its customary 22C since acquiring it last August. Looks like it will be going back into the local garage for a recharge - fingers crossed that's all it is. I always leave the air con on but this was the first day I needed some cooling.

Went on a 200 mile journey to take my housemate to see a BMW E46 convertible.
He didn't buy it but the all-day roof-down trip was worth it :)

We passed one of the few open McDonald's drive thrus and were very tempted to indulge ourselves but the queue was just like in the news pictures, so we quickly abandoned that idea. As much as I love a quarter pounder meal - large, of course - I wouldn't wait hours for one. Not the same when you take the fast out of fast food.

Lockdown jobs :D .
Cleaned the E class roof lining and carpets with a can of foaming upholstery cleaner (and my lungs as well ) .
Found two aircon bomb cans in the garage and did one of them in each car . Had to drop the CLK roof when I got in it an hour later just so I could breathe

Would you enlighten the less technically astute what exactly these are as I wouldn't want to explode my air con at this time of the year (30C yesterday):eek:o_O:cool:.

Just a bacteria cleaner spray buddy , you put the aircon on recirculate With all the vents open and put a can in the back footwell , press the tab on the top and it fires for 5 mins leaving a nice fresh clean chemical smell

Passed MOT yesterday
One advisory - rear brake disc pitted. I know - it was made by MTEC! I'm surprised these lasted five years and didn't rust through...
Still - not bad for an [almost] 15 yr old car, with only 51,630 on the clock.
Apparently, this past year was the most mileage, between MOTs in this car's history: 8,575

You should have ventured into Cambridgeshire, plenty of Merc owners flaunting their upper bits with their tops down, we tough in Cambridgeshire :p

Gave it a clean (Actually yesterday not today as per thread title). Not that it's done much since the last clean but it was covered in a thin layer of dust after sitting in the garage, so I decided to make it look a bit better.

It's now back in the garage with a charger connected. :(

I swapped out the Steering Fluid and replaced it with this: Only £4.69 from ECP.

Also did the first of 3 ATF Sump Drain and Refill with Fuchs Titan ATF4134. 2.7lts a go. (New Filter and Seal on the final one).

But the most interesting thing I noticed whilst under there was this, (of which I was totally unawares) - anybody guess...????
