Just a thought.....do you park with your front wheels straight?Tested the SL’s marathon capabilities by adding 1100 miles to the clock across france to Italy. Stopping at the step-family in provence en route. Got a chance to try out the abc ride height function riding up a dusty, rocky track. All worked very nicely indeed and no problems with the car whatsoever
that is until the morning after arriving at our destination. I got a red dash warning saying ‘ABC stop car too low‘. My heart sank. Pressed the ride height button a couple of times and that seemed to sort it.
I wonder if it was caused by parking the car on an incline, after such a long journey? I had used the ride height function at the very end of our trip to get up the drive, stopped, reset ride height to normal, switched off.
It’s still parked on an incline and when we went to the shops yesterday it was running as normal - no errors...
Praying it was just a glitch in the matrix and nothing else!
Otherwise things over here on the continent seem quite like the UK. Southern France seemed much more relaxed - people hanging out as if there was no virus. Italy seems a bit more cautious.
Perhaps if the lowering the height again hadn’t quite finished when you switched off, that might have caused the error?Tested the SL’s marathon capabilities by adding 1100 miles to the clock across france to Italy. I did give it a few moments after lowering. But perhaps that wasn’t enough...Perhaps if the lowering the height again hadn’t quite finished when you switched off, that might have caused the error?
Got the insurance repair costs, it is estimated at £2600 and have been given to go ahead to start.
They valued the car at £5295!!!!!
I kind of disagree

They were close to writing that off then. Is it 50% to make it a write off ?
That is one heck of a lot of money for the repair though. Another contributory factor as to why premiums are so high
thank you! It seems to be a marmite one!
Not webbed are they
What did that cost if you don’t mind me asking . Lovely looking car by the way , looks 3 years oldYesterday I had a detailer out for paint correction. Old black car, lots of swirls.. basically the perfect candidate.
Anyway, the outcome is ridiculously good. The car needed it.
Although I did it a few weeks ago I didn't post about it, threw the AMG styled bumpers and sideskirts on.
Not bad for near 13 years and 120k miles.
Just the mufflers and tips to do now.

That is a seriously good price , wish you had some before picsIt was £260. The bumpers and skirt didn't need any correction as they were only painted about 6 weeks ago so he said it was a bit cheaper than it would normally be for a large car.
He arrived at 9 and left at about half 6, the entire day he was on the go. Unbelievable work.
If anyone has an older car then this has to be the most cost effective way of getting it looking amazing again. Especially if it is of a darker metallic colour.
He took plenty to put on his FB and Instagram pages so I'll grab them when he posts. That is a seriously good price , wish you had some before pics
