@Srdl Thanks for the details on Mobilo.....I was wondering if this was Mercedes breakdown Assistance service. :)

Regarding brake fluid(this thread seems to have become all about brake fluid :(), isn't it strange that some manufacturers recommend a 3 year change while others say 2. I mean nobody uses a super fluid that lasts a year longer than any others. :D
I would have no problems with a 3 year change, that's much more realistic than 2. :)

You have no choice with MB , they change at 2 years regardless . Or you lose Mobilio cover

Hmmmmm......I would take issue with that because a brake fluid change is recommended but optional.

From their website:
You’ll receive a renewal notification to confirm cover has been extended for another 12 months on completion of a full Mercedes-Benz Recommended Service.*

* Including both Routine Maintenance and Additional Items.

Their rules, unfortunately.

Thanks Sonic, I do speak from experience. With my first MB, the S203 C270 with full MB service history when I bought it, I noticed paint bubbling on the bottom of both OS doors soon after I bought it, took it to MB Ashford for investigation (at about 7 years old), end result was MB offered 10% of the £800 cost of having it repaired at their approved bodyshop. I declined, and not long after - and TBH unexpectedly - PX'd it with MB Ashford for our S204. Then with my S204 I suffered lacquer peeling on the bonnet and roof, MB Ashford supplied from new, I bought it as second owner 4 1/2 years old and had them service it 11 1/2 months later before warranty ran out, but a few years (about 18 months ago) when the lacquer peeling becoame obvious, I again tried for a claim under the paintwork warranty - not a cat in hells chance, cost me £600 to get it sorted and MB would not contribute a penny. Posted a thread on here and MBClub about this in much detail. You only have to read on here and MBClub forum to find example after example of MB wriggling out of any form of warranty claim.
You seem to have been very unlucky regarding the paint on your cars. We have had 6 Mercs in the last 20 years, normally sold at 10 years or 100K miles plus. None of them have required any paint work.

If you take the service plan route , maybe pay for the first A service and then take out a plan so it covers 2 xB services , which will get more for your money or at least less waste of your money ?
The ideal would be to cover B A B rather than A B A

Great advice. At the first service it really would just be oil and filter at £250. By year four when the second B service is due, other "additional" items would be due too, which would be included in the service plan.

For the OPs guidance, basic B service seems to be in the region of £400 in most dealers. Plus additional items...

Not in my experience either, this is why I was surprised when reading the quoted section in my original post.
Apparently though...and thanks to the link that Chrishazle posted, the following is part of a "Plus Package" for my A service which I assume means additional expense.
Windscreen washer system: Check/correct fluid level – (When using cleaning compounds for summer/winter and depending on the ambient temperature, observe the mixing ratio. - use Mercedes-Benz approved concentrate

I completely agree about knowing the price for a service beforehand, and every car I've ever had dealer serviced they could tell me exactly how much it was going to cost before they done it. For example the second annual service on my Audi S3 at only 8300 miles would have cost £389.....but I traded it to Mercedes instead. :D

Just for the record I fully intend to have my car dealer serviced.

MyService will tell you the total cost. You might get a bit of a shock though!

As you said you do very low miles I would warn you that MyService and the Electronic Service Sheet (ESS) can get messed up if the annual mileage doesn't more or less match age - the annual mileage limit is 15,500 and the system seems to expect the age and mileage to line up and if they don't it can miss out some of the additional work items. It's an issue if you have ServiceCare as you'll have a battle getting the dealer to do stuff if it's not called for on the ESS.

And at year 4 will need engine filters, fuel filter and possibly a gearbox oil change

When my E63 had its A service last Sept, the screenwash was topped up and the remains of the bottle left in the boot. It wasn't charged for as a seperate item.

Well, maybe. I think the diesel filter has generally moved to 3yrs now and, of course, it only needs changing if it's a diesel! Plugs on petrols used to be 4yrs - no idea if that interval is still same. ATF change is usually 5yrs.

I don't doubt what you said, but because it says "cover has been extended for another 12 months" this suggests to me it is for a car outside of the original manufacturers warranty.
I have 3 years roadside assistance as standard with my new car purchase.

Regardless....I will not be having my brake fluid changed at only 2 years old and less than 9000 miles, but will do it at 3 if I still own the car(recent history as shown this to be unlikely). :)

Edit.
I found this on their website which was immediately above the section you quoted.
Renewing Your Cover for up to 30 years
To maintain Roadside Assistance cover after the first 3 years, simply service your car at an official Mercedes-Benz Retailer.

While I did "like" your post, I didn't like what I read. ;)

That’s exactly what I intend doing.
The CLS has just had a big B service as part of the sale (allegedly costing the sales dept £890  ) so I’ll pay for the next A then take out the service plan for B-A-B (£42 per month)
Any warranty will then be long gone so it’ll be time to find an Indie of good reputation.

Contact Mercedes customer support.
They will tell you the cost of servicing, I took out a three year plan as it will save me around £400 over all.
Plus it's convenient to pay it monthly.
My B service is around £600 for a 2017 C300h AMG line estate.

Im sure you had a chuckle to yourself when told this.
In house servicing costs a dealer peanuts compared to what the customer is charged. Servicing is a nice little earner for them.

I explored the option of taking out a service plan on my E63 which is no longer under warranty. The next service is a B service with an ATF change included. The service plan will cost £52 a month over 3 years to get the benefit of a B.A.B service.
So that is £1872 for 3 services or £624 a year for 3 years.

Now if I were to get these 3 services done at an indy, the first B service I would guess would be well under £600 including that ATF change. The next one is just an oil/filter and check up and supplying the oil would come in under £200. The last B service would require another set of spark plugs and brake fluid but I still think £600 would cover it easily.
So I'm already £400+ down and the Mobilo cover can be replaced through the RAC anyway for little cost.

So I'm leaning toward my indy doing the work when the time comes and saving some money.
