Cool. Thanks Conor!
I seriously doubt I’ll be buying another car now unless I win Euromillions, although I suspect you have to buy a ticket to win!
I’d be hard pushed to decide on another car now I have the CLS shooting brake. :D

Fair enough... A beauty if a cat that. Enjoy.

Well the new S Class is here.. 2016 350d.. Never had any interior other than black before so may be a challenge!!

Car has Burmeister, Distronic, Wood steering wheel, exec rear package, pano roof, TV, massage seats and I've already stripped out the console and comand and fitted aftermarket car play... looks factory too!

Bought from a main dealer in Guildford so came with 1 years warranty, they even stargarded it too!

Haggled and got a reduced price and then as part of the PDI, they found it needed new tyres all round (20") new disks and pads all round and new magic wipers... and they threw all that in too!

Things I don't like... no push button to close the boot (Every one of my previous 6 S Class's have had that as standard) No shopping bag hooks in the boot and no umbrella holder under the boot lid... so I've taken those out of my written off W221 and fitted them... Other than that, I have driven all of 14 miles in it (I still have the Audi A8 courtesy car for the next two weeks so I'm putting mileage on that and have stripped out the boot compartment ready for the fridge and genuine electrically operated towbar install which I'm hoping to do next weekend!

Ooh! Tow bar... Is that new kit or picked up from salvage? What do you tow?

All parts are new, apart from the actual towbar, but that came off a 2016 car like mine...

I only tow a small trailer to the tip occasionally and sometimes rent a car trailer to drag my MK1 Granada around if I don't feel like driving it!! :)

I do love my MK1... My dad was a Chauffeur back in the 70's and 80's and had a few new, blue MK1's and a couple of new MK2's in black... That's why I bought this!!

I also used to own a few Corsairs, one of which was a 1967 2000E with 1938 miles on the clock when I bought it... I sold it with just over 3000 miles on it after owning it for 5 years... I do miss that one

Very nice, getting towards the end of the run for the MK1's?
When my boss moved to the MK2 I tried to buy the MK1 but it was just out of my price range. I did manage to buy one of the BMW's though in 1979.
I've had quite a number of Fords in my time ranging from the MK2 Cortina through to a 3 year old LTD I bought in 1980. I never did manage to own a Granada though :( Closest I came there was a 1984 Fairmont which was a similar shape to the MK 2 Granada only Australian
I did settle down with Triumphs as my classic car, mainly because I started with them. :D

I had 7 or 8 Corsairs a few years ago, had my first one when I was 19 in 1982... it was my dads old one and he was the 2nd owner from new, the first owner was his uncle, my Godfather....

This was my 2000E with 1900 miles on it... after it was restored of course... 40 years sat in a garage does nothing for chrome and paintwork! Image 01.08.2014 08.46.16 0389.jpeg

Wow
I take it you are a car man like myself :D
A friend of mine had a Corsair 2000gt estate, I'm fairly certain it was a GT as he said it was rarer than the E version, but my memory is not what it used to be
I have one or 2 classic cars myself
