Ok. So far I've always just used old fashioned Autoglym waxes (I used Dyna Glaze until it discontinued!) but seems all the chat is about Ceramic coatings
I don't plan on showing my CLS 63 but I'd like to keep the shine as long as possible so....
Which Ceramics do people favour?
And as I suspect there are many answers why do people think one is better than another?

I was always a spit and polish guy but now ive been transformed by ceramic coating. cant believe sometning that goes on as handy as polish but can last for a year or possibly longer. I used Nano Guard @ £30, its £28 on amazon atm. I thought it might do one vehicle but I put two coats on the Santa Fe(dont ask why as one was sufficient) one coat on the Vito(two large vehicles) and still have enough left in bottle for my Rav4

Used this stuff , one of the cheaper products out there £30 ish from memory. Been on a good few months now , easy to use and is holding up well, a little goes a long way.

V6 Matty is right there, something I left out is the hard work in bringing the paint to a point where you can use a ceramic coat.

I’d say use whatever you want as in reality it’s all about the prep work if the paint before you apply any coatings
Very true , if you don’t put the time in on the prep, your wasting your money.

Had mine done when I first got it by a pro detailer up near me.

It started with the usual washing and claying, then a full machine polish to eliminate any swirls and holograms, of which there were apparently quite a few. This process took over a day. After that, the coating was added, this being Gtechniq C1 Crystal Lacquer followed by EXOv4 on the top as a top glossy layer.

It took nearly 3 days in total allowing for curing times etc, this was on a new car with under 20 miles on the clock so, as mentioned above, preparation is key to the process.

Worth it? I'd say so, it certainly has a pronounced gloss to it and is a lot easier to clean than my others have been, though that's the aspect that I surprisingly miss the most. I used to enjoy the cleaning/detailing side of things, claying and re-applying waxes every 6 months or so. I still use a quick detailer on this one but it's not really necessary and a quick wash down would probably have the same effect, though I like to think that I'm now protecting the coating and not the paint itself. :)

As daveenty above has stated the shine to me is a bonus but the major thing on it being just a van is how easy it is to keep clean with a ceramic coat:D

As I expected. But what it does show is that there doesn't seem to be one standout product. So pretty much whichever I choose should be ok..
Paint prep is the important step - point taken.
But I look forward to more comment and opinion

I've used loads of stuff (never a proper ceramic) and the new TW product produced a gloss on my white car like I've never seen before (even good on the wheels). They say it lasts 12 months.

Ahh I'm a die hard Turtlewax fan Rory. I read they had a ceramic coat coming out some time back and now ive seen it in the flesh. It will be on my garage shelf before long:D Bit of a dilemma, mmm should I buy one or all three TW products:rolleyes:

If your paint needs a polishing then get the polish then seal, if not go straight to the ceramic spray sealer. Wax....depends if you want to put a wax coat on. After doing 2 coats of the sealer (as recommended on the bottle) I'm using the Carwash (very little foam but cleans well enough) and top off with the 3in1 detailer. Seems to work well. I'm tempted to buy the wax but still have a full bottle of prior Hybrid Sealant Wax which also works really well (was only abut £10-00 so not losing sleep over it). The sealer goes a long way - spread it thinly and rather do several coats.

Each product seems to stand alone and TW say they can/should be used together - many products doing similar things to add confusion.
