I must say it is helpful to have the seats but my word the headlights are poor..... Not hugely impressed with the handling either........ It may be that my C Class is just so much better but still.......Ah well, it does the job it was bought for at least..... Also, feck me the thing is long, I parked in the supermarket and it was about 1ft over the line !!

Yes, they are big! And I agree re the p*** poor headlights. Can you expect a 2200kg barge to 'handle'? ;)

Yes she is parked next to my C-Class estate and it looks like a Daddy car is taking his son out.............. Any way to upgrade those lights? I get blinded by other cars now, need HiD if I can..... No I guess 2.5tonnes or so is not going to be too lithe but at least in a straight line it goes quite well........

What lamps do you have? The R class 251 should come with Bi Xenon as standard; we haven’t noticed any problem with lamp performance on ours. More the opposite in fact, good beam pattern, definition and throw at main and high beam!

Agreed the thing doesn’t handle great- but then remember what it is. It’s actually a pretty refined ride.

We traded a somewhat spiced up E320 S211 estate in for our R Class. There’s a definite transition to be made in one’s thinking.... but aside from that, it’s a great car. Just a BIG one!

My 07 plate didn't. It had crappy projectors ...... later cars might
Ours is a 2011. The headlights look nice in the actual unit (and I thought they would be quite good), just the performance on the road is not so great....

I've not traded in that may be part of the problem, I drove the C Class 50 miles in the morning then the R Class 20 miles at night.......... So I am frequently being reminded what awesome handling and balance feels like.... ANd of course my C Class has HiD so I have got used to that as well (I don't use the TVR at night because frankly I am not an owl!)...

Yes. Osram Nightbreaker Unlimited are the brightest lamp going. They will give you the same illumination(not brightness- different thing) as typical LED lamps.

I tried one of the H7 Night breakers .... can't now remember which exactly but IMHO they didn't make much difference
Damn. Must be something we can do...

Yep... the Nightbreakers make a world of difference. I’ve fitted them to three cars now, including a Golf Mk.4 notorious for cr@p frontal lighting. Transformed them.

I can vouch for Osram Nightbreakers too. I had Unlimiteds and Lasers on different cars and they made a big difference.

The Lasers are a brand upgrade only, no change in lighting performance over standard Nightbreakers. The Unlimiteds offer a lumen increase.

Ok so unlimited it is. Looks like about £30 a set, that is well worth it.
