Hi all, I just checked the spec for my 9G-Tronic gearbox and according to Bevo the spec for the ATF is MB 236.17.

It looks like RAVENOL ATF M 9-G Serie is available in the UK; however, I would prefer the Fuchs Titan ATF 9134 FE.

I have tried Opie Oil but they don’t stock it; does anybody know where I might get some?

but he may need another litre or two if he is going to pump out the radiator and lines.
I will be changing the filter so transmission pan off.

£302.......WOW !!! 20 ltrs Fuchs Titan ATF 7134 FE for €133 back in August for my 722.9 trans, MB Spec 236.15 . So enough for the planned change, and a 2nd change (might have to add a litre or two when the time comes.. ) The ATF 7134 FE that I got is blue in color, but I guess that your trans takes the same oil?

Yes Mike, thats all part of it, and you can get a kit which will include the filter, gasket, sump studs, oil level pipe, and new stud for the TC. But there is also a transmission cooling radiator, with two pipes running from it ( outlet and return) and that will hold at least 1 or 1.5 ltres. The problem is that if you want to do a 100%, this will have to be drained too. And the best way to do his to disconnect the return pipe, attache a plastic pipe on to it, and put the the end into a plastic container so you can monitor the drained oil. So basically, pump out 2 litres of "old" fluid, replace it with new fluid, repeat until the new oil can be seen coming out. This is a very basic outline of what has to be done, but if you want a more detailed description, let me know, and I'll try to help, OK ?

It's 7g+ 7134FE ( 236.15 ) is facelift 2011 > W204 and 9g ( 236.17 ) 9134FE 2016 > W205 .

Both are incredibly thin ATF's .

9g
236.17
9134FE , no dye added .
17.5 centiStokes @ 40°C
4.1 centiStokes @ 100°C

7g+
236.15
7134FE , Blue dye
18 CentiStokes @ 40°C
4.4 CentiStokes @ 100°C

and for comparison the older 5 and 7g ATF spec

5g , 7g
236.14
4134 , Red dye
29.6 centiStokes @ 40°C
6.4 centiStokes @ 100°C

Mike, one of the things I checked with dealer when taking out my service plan, was that transmission fluid change was included whenever it is due on my W205. But then, I only have a 7-speed box :)

Ian, my service plan ran out last May and because of the low mileage the ATF hasn't been changed. Furthermore because I am not entirely satisfied with MB Main Dealer servicing I didn't renew the plan so I will be doing Engine oil changes, etc myself and for anything else the vehicle will be going to an indie.
