Do these wheels/tyres fit? Read this post first!

Help required please..... if you would be so kind
I have an E220 convertible, 2016 that currently has 19" alloys and very low profile tyres.. they are not really the best and the rear 255/30zR19 has been replaced twice already from the blasted potholes all over the roads up here in the Glens in Scotland.. this last time, I hadn't even done 100 miles between bursts!
Anyway, after spending time on the phone to Mercedes dealers today I have had no real luck in finding out if I can swap the wheels to 18" alloys, with what I hope can be 'not as low' profile tyres.. the last conversation ended with the chap telling me there was only one sort of wheel that I could use, as its not really the done thing to swap down? - he said an AMG twin spoke - but it was my choice if i swapped....

Could anyone please point me in the direction of where to find the information - please do bear in mind I'm a non-technical female!!!

You can use any wheel from within the options list for your model and year with no problems.
Dropping down to 18s is not uncommon and there is no reason why you can't.

I wonder if the standard 17’s would fit from the W213?

If you see one you like in im either 17" or 18", make a note of the part# and price and see if the main dealer will match it.

I am awaiting delivery of a 2021 A250 hatch 4-matic (W177). 2021s are simply a carry over of the 2020s.

My car will have the "Sport Brake Package". with 18 in. wheels. 7.5jx18 ET49 per this website:

I would like to use minus size wheels for my winter tires, preferably 16 in. but 17 in. would do. The website lists available wheels as 6.5jx16 ET44 and 6.5jx17 ET44. (On the plus side they list 7.5jx19 ET49 and 8jx19 ET44).

Does anybody here know if the smaller wheels will clear the callipers on the "Sport Brake Package"?

I doubt the 16" wheels would fit over them but 17" should be fine.

Your dealer should be able to confirm fitment of the 16" wheels.

Unfortunately the service manager couldn't confirm fitment. Only that Sport Brakes were larger than standard brakes.
I haven't taken delivery of my car yet as it's a 2021 which is on order. 2021s are just a carry over of the 2020s. Delivery should be in Dec. / Jan. so I'm trying to line up winter wheels in advance.

I checked on a wheel and tyre size calculator for you and this is the report they presented based on the standard tyre sizes I have on the rear of my 2009 E350 CDi Sport C207, my car has the staggered set up though, (smaller on the front), I'm not sure about yours.
(My winter set up is 225/40/18 front and 235/40/18 rear).

Suspension :- 100% clear (leaves even more room than OE)

Fenders/wings :- 100% clear (leaves even more room than OE)

Wheelwells :- Will fill out the wheelwell by extra 21 mm. Make sure that you have enough room under the fender. If not, consider lower profiles or smaller rims.

Brakes :- Rim diameter is less than OE. Make sure that you have enough room for brakes inside the rim.

Scrub radius :- Negative scrub radius (about -7 mm). Scrub radius will be changed by -7 mm, this may affect the car's handling. Please check manufacturer recommendations. Please be aware that calculated value is approximate.

I hope this helps, personally, if I liked the wheels and the tyres were good, I'd ask the vendor to let me fit them to the car to check them out, that way you can't go wrong, they will either fit or will not.

The link should take you directly to the report I spoke of. The only thing I can see as being an issue for you is the aspect ratio, if you got 40% or even 35% instead of 45's I think it would be a better fit on your car. I did a quick check and it improves things to go with either the 40's or 35's. The only thing to worry about then would be the brake caliper to rim distances.

I don't know about the illegality or not tbh.

Hi everyone!
I have a w204 2010 c250 cgi, currently on 17" amg alloys, tyres are 225/45 r17 on front, 245/40 r17 on the rear. I need to replace the tyres, and I was thinking about all-season tyres. Problem is, they usually don't come in the rear size.
The datasheet and online pages shows that the car can be fitted with all 4 225/45 r17 wheels. If I want to keep the rear wider, my options are 235/45, or 245/45. Would any of them fit? Or I just stick to the "all-4 the same" setup?
Tyres in question are the Goodyear vector 4seasons gen 3.

If everything else is the same (wheel width, tyre size) they will be fine. It just means they will stick out 8mm further than your current set up, which wont be a problem.

I have ran 15mm spacers before on my OEM set up of 19s on my 218 CLS with no issues, and currently run quite an aggressive (compared to stock) offset on my 20" wheels which is low 40s IIRC and that is on a 10.5j rear wheel.

Just double checked and realised I had put low 30's instead of low 40s! You will be fine with a ET 40 on a stock wheel. What design are the wheels or are they purely winters?
