Dreaming of a CL55k - one day maybe....
Bit harsh, I liked my private plate as it hid just how old my car was!!!

To the unknowing my £5k CLK looked more like a £20k car given its looks....

Obviously no-one here wouldn’t know how cheap it was, but to most people it looked a classy car.

Why do you feel the need to try and fool people into thinking your car is newer & worth more that it actually is?

I don't.... my car looked nice, and that was it really.

Are some people really so shallow they consider everyone with a personalised plate is a tw@t or a kn@b even when they have never met them to make an actual judgement - no wonder the world is in such a mess if people judge others so quickly.... .it's like living in Trump's America!

Both opinions are equally valid & correct ;)

Nope - both opinions - not necessarily correct!

I would consider myself a perfectly normal average guy, and don't judge others in general, and if I do, it's based on facts not assumptions.....

Jees lockdown is certainly bringing out the worst in people on these forums recently....!

Probably cheapest option.
Just found another little Brexit gift.
We can no longer take good from the UK with us which makes life a bit more awkward as we are in the habit of taking our first two days food with us due to arriving late at the house. Now we'll have to get off the ferry/train and go straight to a supermarket in order to have milk/bread/cheese/cereal/evening meal for when we get there and next morning.
The regs actually apply to products of animal origin, particularly meat and dairy. Everything else seems fine.

EU Personal Good Regs

Edit... and fruit and veg but bananas are ok

Not really, no - i have a personalised plate - and there is nothing wrong with them to my mind: Unless they are illegally spaced in a vain attempt to represent something that it isnt real..... that is my big issue :)

I have had a personal plate for 20 years, not ashamed to admit- it was a gift (although not the greatest surprise as I had hinted) on my 40th Birthday- main reason I keep it is so I don't have to forget my reg number!!
Each to their own, there's some grumpy sods around presently who need to wind their necks in....

I think, as @Rob76 points out, the issue has become confused by some. It’s the illegal spacing, and whatever, that is so sad and objectionable to many of us not the personalised plate.

Smart + others :)
When I see a plate trying to be something it isn’t, I just laugh, I dont take offence. Life’s too short to get wound up about a miss spaced plate.

It is against the rules for the number plate to make the vehicle appear newer than it actually is. :p
Dateless plates are the best ones to have, but they tend to be much more expensive.
I have just the one that I bought 22 years ago and have been transferring it from car to car ever since.
It was originally issued by DVLC (as it was known then) in 1976.

Something like that?

I've had 1 of mine for 29 years and it's still on the same vehicle :)
