Doesn't the glc come with that grille as part of the AMG pack? Or it's 150£ off ebay and has no AMG branding on it....

My car has AMG branded wheels but I don't avoid 'AMG' drivers as I am under no illusion that the engine has been fettled by AMG...I just like the looks.

Not sure it counts as inappropriate badging when it is literally properly badged parts from the manufacturer?

This thread makes us sound like a bunch of sad pricks...IMO. I think we think more about other people's decisions than they do...or we care to admit to.
It does not make us sad but why do people put silly badges on their cars? To make them feel better about themselves?to try to impress others that they have a better car than the other guy? Hmmm not sure what the answer is really? Maybe i should put Brabus, Kompressor, Supercharger V8biturbo AMG badges on my S500 then that way i would feel absolutley estatic about myself when i drive it about to make a statement to others that im THE MAN!!!! haha!!

1) The person with the fake car does not know that we’re taking the p1$$.

2) People are just enjoying taking the p1$$ out of people “faking it”.

3) The guy with the fake AMG might fool his mates and people who do not know. Good for him. However, car enthusiasts and people that have real AMGs can spot a fake pretty quickly.

4) Pretty much like the sector that wear fake designer gear & watches - you need to know what are looking at and then it is reasonably easy to spot the knock off!

I just find it hilarious, it brightens my day. I have no idea why. I do genuinely have a chuckle every time I open this thread.

I think it's the Top Gear style of humour, of optimism winning over budget. Anyone remember Hammonds Porsche 924 with go-faster flames ? As a kid, I might well have done the same thing. Good for them I say. I think whoever puts a CLS63 badge on an Astra 1.9Tdi is having a laugh at all the pretentious gits like me who drive round in 500 HP behemoths.

Keep 'em coming, chaps.

This thread is a hoot! I genuinely remember my friends dad, circa 1980 ish arguing with his wife (who I have now known for 45 years) about which new company car to have next. The choice was a Citroën or Ford (I am certain it was a Cortina) and she insisted on the Ford as it had a badge denoting GL, or Lux or whatever it was back then! I was only 8 but I do remember that the Ford turned up a few weeks later with a shiny badge on the back! Badge was critical back then it seems. The AMG badge on that Polo is hilarious :)
