The side windows aren’t heated, one side is for the radio and the other is the antenna for the MB phone that would have been in the glove compartment
Yes, I learnt something new about my car and ticked something off the list of things that need a good coat of looking at, much to the previous owners amusement!

The radio and phone in the centre console were working fine and did not need defrosting.
It was worth a PAYG sim to relight the fire in that old Nokia and revel in my own self importance asking what we are having for dinner once I'm half way home.

Just fitted a nice pair of Osram Xenarc Nightbreaker +200 bulbs to replace the old Phillips ones. The old ones have gone in the boot as spares. Just need to wait for darkness now to try them.

I’ve used them in the past and they are good, they have a nice spread of light :)

That's about... 9,500 nautical miles??? :)
It's not been plain sailing though...

Guys, Guys, Guys wrong car The Money Pit is so water tight I could drive it into the Nene River and come out super dry on the inside :D
Now looking at the 55 I have done just shy of 40,000mls (35.5000 nautical miles if you must!!) if I drove that into the Nene it would be like the Kursk .......Now where did I put my Scuba gear ...................

Put dehumidifier (30L per day one so not small!) in the 230 boot overnight.

Less than a cupful of water drawn out.

Now have it in the passenger compartment to see what that draws out (I'd suspect somewhat more).

I use those dehumidifier tubs, (about £20 for 20 from fleabay) and leave one in each of the cars.
Does a cracking job of removing moisture that ends up as condensation on the inside of the windscreen.
Got them dotted around mancave and really stops the coldness infiltrating. Of course the low wattage bar heaters help as well.

We have several electric compressor ones - 2 are left in France when were not there to help dry out the house.
We also have one here for general dehumidifying duties such as helping dry paint and clothes.
So far it's pulled nearly 1/2 litre out if the R230. Going to take the car out for a bit of a run soon so will get some heat in it. The dehumidifier doesn't work brilliantly if the temperature is sub 5 degrees.

Inflated the tires with my trusted tyre inflator of 7 years. Been a bit slack recently so the psi was down to 30 to 32 on all 4 tyres. I'd just about finished getting the 4th tyre to 35psi when the inflater gave up and blew the 15A cig lighter fuse. Fuse replaced.

Search for a new one begins.

Took the SL out for petrol and gave it a rare treat of £110 worth of super unleaded....

I keep forgetting how well it rides.
It's actually smoother on 19s than the R class is on 18s with a much higher sidewall!

Put the roof down on the 55 and drove it 6ft in reverse and forward gears :D
Drove the SLK to the end of the driveway and back :D
Drove the Money Pit to C16RKC for a short visit without any problems :D

I've copied this idea from another forum that I use (A Ford Transit Forum) of all things!

I quite look forward to getting the e-mail notifiers that someone has posted something... De-badged their van, polished it, new wheels maybe... even a new air freshener....

Just a bit of fun really....

So, come on...

I did a sneaky peek out of the bedroom curtains, it's still there and the airbags have not become deflated since Friday. Enough win wins to not drive the Volvo tomorrow.

I put £80+ of Shell 99 into mine as a treat for it yesterday and drove it to Hereford and back today to have lunch with my sister and brother-in-law. After all the cold weather, the roads were covered in salty crud so the car is now more brown than red :(

This was the tally for the return journey:

Took the SL for a drive & then washed it.

Went over all rubber seals on roof & doors with Gummi Pflege & lubed all locks & door mirrors with spray graphite.

Then parked up in garage with dehumidifier.

Well guys i got my secondary sports Cats fitted this morning at long life exhausts in Carshalton,Dan there heard the old ones rattling away and said they are completly gone! Well when i checked them myself they were indeed!, new cats working a treat now so well worth getting them done, and as they fitted my stainless steel exhaust i have lifetime warranty on them all so a win win really.
My brother has a mate who will buy my old cats off me, so least i get some money back from the bill!

The GLC has been proving her worth this week as a load lugger, helping Katie clear stuff from her yacht ready for some maintenance work. Who says a high performance SUV doesn’t make sense!
