Hi all,:p
over the last few months I have been trying make a post on this site without any joy so i have had to start over again with a new user name, I had not posted previously as I was not able to for some reason, so I used to just view other posts without being able to make a comment or introduce myself to all you MERC Lovers, anyway.... about 6 months ago I was fortunate to come across a very rare beast for sale, it was a fully converted (from new) 2003 BRABUS SL55 K8, it has BRABUS 20" Monoblock VI with Continental Contisport 225/30/ZR at the front and 305/25/20ZR at the rear, it has the BRABUS Sports Catalitic Converters, BRABUS twin Chrome pipe exhaust, BRABUS recalibrated speedo with 220MPH on the dial, 0-60 time (depending on where you read it) is between 4.0 and 4.4 seconds

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VJmYCLg_gF4

from what I understand there were only around 8 made for UK!!!
I fell in love with it the moment I saw it and when you see my video that I made and the pictures that I have taken you will see why!!
My BRABUS SL has had many modification by BRABUS including the removal of the speed limiter! the top speed it projected to be over 200MPH, it has 550BHP, 780Nm of Torque, BRABUS Reprogrammed ABC Sport for a lower riding height and many more changes have been made including the interior such as the BRABUS re leathered interior and more!!
As you can tell I am very passionate about this car and I also other Mercedes models, I would like to comunicate with other like minded people, I had joined other mercedes owners forums but they were american but I wanted to be part of the MB Owners forum which appears to be based where I live so I can possibly come to some of the meets.
I also have a 1991 500SL (R230) which I have had for 6 years which is still a great car to drive, it on has 60,000 miles on it, when I bought it it had 30,000 miles on it, it's so smooth compared to the BRABUS, the BRABUS has a very potent (and addictive) power delivery, i would actualy say agressive but smooth at the same time. The problem is that I often have people in othe fast cars trying to test me such as Audi R8, Porsche 997 Carrera 2S, Carrera 4S, 996 Carrera TURBO and of course I leave them looking at my exhaust pipes (if you know what I mean)
I hope to post some of my pictures of my car on this site also.
BRABUS:razz:

A very warm welcome to the Forum.

You have a VERY interesting car indeed. Have you thought about bringing it to one of the many 'gatherings' this Forum arranges? Im sure there are many Members who would like to see it for real.

Easy peasy - just keep watching this Forum. They are well advertised - or simply do a 'search'.

My BRABUS SL55 K8

Let me say welcome to the forum, and congrats and the fantastic car!
Really an incredible beast you have there.
Hoping to see it one day I'm in London and attending one of the meets.

Thanks,
I am looking forward to attending one of the meets in or near London, I was considering attending one of the gatherings that they have at the ACE Cafe in London along the North Circular Road, I understand that they have a German car night on the last Monday of every month, has any member ever attended one of these meetings?

Good morning BRABUS and welcome to the Forum (this is the morning shift just starting work).

Fabulous car and stellar performance. I note you have not yet had time to report on fuel economy (consumption) and tyre life!

We look forward to seeing you at a gtg somewhere soon.

Good morning Alex and thank you for your welcome.:p
The fuel economy is around 18 mpg or 10 mpg if i boot it, but on the run the mpg displays around 32 with a very light foot, I drove to the Isle of Wight from London at the end of last year with the Wife so I could not drive fast (she dosent like speed or the surge of the power delivery) so I had to drive conservatively, (between 50-70) and sometimes the DTR on,thats when it showed the best fuel consumption display, as for the tyres Iam not sure yet but I dont expect the rear ones to last very long as the beast easily spins the wheels if you are not careful and I am often not careful (still getting used to controling all that power) I dont realy get a chance to drive it during the week and over the winter months I had left in in the garage driving it around every 3 weeks, I look forward to the dry warm and bright weather!

Well done BRABUS. A trip to the IOW is a good way to get a pleasing result on fuel economy. Ignore the computer, just divide the door to door distance by the brim to brim fuel used.

Cross Channel Ferries give a better result, and Malcolm's overnight to Scandanavia gives the best of all!

Sod the economy. Pick a day when the wife, regrettably can not be with you, and enjoy it!! We are all in awe!

Ace car and welcome.

Perhaps you'd be interested in the GTG @ portsmouth on may 16th. It would be nice to see a proper Brabus for real. However, be warned, I will ask you to take me for a spin in it and probably so will others. But I asked 1st :D
