Anyone know rough part price for R129 SL ?

Anyone know rough part price of an ignition switch for a 1997 280SL......could a decent garage do the job or is it best left to the mercedes dealer

If my memory is correct around £60 for the key part, or is it the actual switch that you need, it is in 2 parts

Hi,

the problem is occasional no start when you turn the key.....nothing no dash lights ...no turnover

remove the key and reinsert ....all normal again

this no start happens very occasionally

Is it worth try some lubrication before embarking on surgery? PTFE, or perhaps WD40.

Not on these switches, they can be opened up if you are brave, but not for non electronic minded folk

I have the fitting details I hope somewhere
