At the top right there is a box to click so that your computer can remember your username and password but it doesnt work for me.

I get a bit sick of typing the whole thing out everytime i go into the forum for a few minutes or when im timed out.

I know nothing about computers but the strange thing is some get remembered like my ebay account and some dont like this.

Could this be to do with your settings in your user accounts

This could just be the Lord's way of trying to tell you something Don?

Do you have your Internet browser settings arranged to "Clear history when closing"?

it clears it after five days

Whoa - wrong direction. It's all to do with 'cookies' and 'applets'. Nothing whatsoever to do with 'History'.

I use IE8. If I "clear browsing history", that clears: temporary files, history, cookies, saved passwords and web from information - and that can be set to clear on exit as a default. I would then have to log on to the Forum afresh next time.

Jez is right, you must enable your browser to accept cookies.
If you use any spyware that deletes cookies, you have to highlight which ones you do not want deleted.

Thats an issue - if you clear your 'cookies', it is all part and parcel of the login process. When you input your username and password, a box should pop-up asking if you want it to remember your password. You should select 'yes'. Once done, save it to 'Favourites' and thereafter, when you select the Forum from 'Favourites' it will auto-log you in.

In your Browser, select: Tools - Internet Options - General - then ensure the box marked Delete browsing history on exit is UNchecked.

there is no box to uncheck there is only a bit in browser history to say how many days i want to save pages i have visited.

if it were these problems why does my ebay, t-moblie, talktalk, and scottish power accounts remember my details. when first logging onto them internet explorer asked if i wanted the password remembered and i clicked yes but this has never happened with this forum.
