I have a V class 230 111 engineed ..When I lift my foot off the acelerator you can hear a knocking noise that disappears when engaging drive again... Im worried about the safty issue as I hsve to travel back to Wales with the Kids today..Anyone know what the problem might be?

in my experiance with front drive mini, polo, golfs etc drive shafts problems first show under load and at full lock, not on the overrun.

take a quick look underneath, usually a little in & out movement is ok however if you can lift them up and down, more than .5 mm then there is a problem.

Might not be drive shaft but diff / box. how fast is the knock, does it behave differently in a different gear. is it a one time knock, or regular withevery wheel revoloution?
