i'm thinking of replacing this as i have a slight oil seep around this area.
ive been told its the only thing that is known to fail on them and it looks relatively simple to do too being at the front of the engine. as far as i know its never been done and the housing to it seems as old as the rest of the engine IE probably the original one.
its also starting to run a little warmer in traffic too, as in the needle nearly touched the next white line above mid in traffic and putting the blowers on didnt bring it down like it usually does. i dont want to blow my head gasket so would rather replace this before the proverbial hits the impeller!
question is, is there a marked difference between GSF/ECP water pumps to the Genuine Merc parts other than price? plastic impellers etc?
