Hi Everybody!

I have got MB E280 CDI from 2005.
Recently I had gear box serviced at independent garage.
They chaged transmission oil (qty.7), transmission gasket (qty.1) and transmission filter (qty.1).
Everything would be fine but I noticed that on receipt they put different engine (E-Class E220 CDI).
Is there any difference while servicing gear box for both models and would that explain that car has less "power" and after start when I accelerate it seems to cut the fuel (just like when skidding).

Thank you for help :)

Smart + others :)
boxes are essentilly both the same so no diff should be noticed after servicing as the same parts are used. seem alot of oil as the torque convertor has no drain?

Thanks for quick reply :)
No clue about that torque convertor - I'm a girl! ;)
Is there any "easy" way to check it, I could have a try :)
Tomorrow I'm taking my car to the same garage (my car drives to left) should I ask them to check it somehow?

Thanks,

Ania

I would change my garage (To jest pravda). Hope this helps

Thanks :)
Well, it may be true :) but I've already booked it (in Manchester). I don't want to argue with them (at least yet ;) because I want them to change the receipt for a correct engine and mileage (they put 98000 miles instead of 60000!)

I will let you know who they are and what was my experience :)

Cheers :)

Hello and welcome :D:D If the garage did it correctly they would have disconnected the oil pipe and spun the engine to drain the torque converter, it would have then used 7 liters

Re the car driving to the left. Careful, you could spent a lot of cash for no reason. Mercedes are notorious for following the camber of the road, as most roads in town are cambered to the left this is misunderstood as a fault causing the car to pull to the left and wearing the shoulders of the front tyres.

Try the car on a road with the camber to the right and see if the car pulls to the right, also find a flat stretch of road with no camber and see if the car tracks straight ahead. If it does both of these there is no fault.

Thanks television for reply - I'm relieved now as I herd story about overfilled engine oil (I know it's not engine but still oil) by MB specialists :)
As the driving to the left - I was in traffic jam on motorway, driving very slowly and I noticed that steering wheel was gradually rotating to the left (it's always left). The guys from garage swapped tyres from rear to front but it hasn't helped :(
Today I'm taking it to garage and see what they do :)

A car will always pull slightly to the left as the camber of the road slopes from right to left to allow drainage. Anything more than a slight pull may be tracking, tyre pressures, or suspension wear.
