The micro switch inside was very unreliable and eventually stopped all together - however i had previously cured the "constantly coming apart problem with a 2 part superglue - i have had to jugsaw my way in to expose the micro switch, which i have now re soldered: so it does now work. However i carnt see it lasting long as half the case is now missing and all the electronics exposed. Im going to try and inject epoxy to seal them - but i think the inevitable parting with huge wedge's of cash is on the way!!!

Why not buy one on Ebay with a good case and change the PCB over

Im pretty sure i would destroy the pcb when trying to get it out. This 2 pac superglue is something else. Its not readily available - trade only product. You put line on one side with a thick maker pen and then the glue on the other side, when they meet it sets instantly. Lets put it this way it will tear the wood of one side of a solid oak worktop (which i use it to join) rather than the glue give way!!! But for the few quid ill give it a go getting one on ebay. If the worst comes to the worst ill read the code with a IR learning tv remote!!

Pants - thats the TV remote idea up the spout. Ill get the dremmal out and get to work cutting the PCB free. All this for one 20p micro switch! well that and one idiot let loose with the superglue !!!

A soldering iron is handy to cut plastic,,it will not damage the pcb

Someone is selling these on ebay and giving the impression that once "sinc'd" i.e blip twice, turn key, turn back, start the fob bit will work with your car. Is this the truth or a load off bull droppings??

No truth at all otherwise all of these cars would get stolen "just like that"

Well you would still need the key to activate the ignition - but i thought as much as there site also contained a very long disclaimer re checking "reprogramming" etc.
