Yes and chances are they'll tell you what Malcolms just said.
It does really need the codes checking as there are many things that can cause it and whilst the MAF is the most common by far, its too expensive to do on the off-chance.
By the sound of it it hasn't gone to a full fault yet but hesitation is one of the symptoms when the MAF is on the way out. Normally you get a few hundred miles of that and then it drops into full safe mode (no kick down, no turbo etc). Mine went from hesitant to duff in 2 days, but it can take a lot longer.

Most Bosch service centres and Merc specialists can check it over for you for a fraction of what a dealer will charge. I watched teh chap do mine. He plugged in a computer under the dash and showed me several readings which were apparently out of range and proved the fault. The guy I used in Manchester was both a Merc specialist and Bosch centre - how good is that!! He kindly did the diagnostic FOC so I just paid for the part- £250. With the diagnostic and fitting charge a dealer would have been closer to £400.

Hi I have had hesitation problems,
Fault occurs between 60 & 100 mph, also with out without cruise control when you start to climb a slight hill & the cruise increases the revs the needle on the revcounter drops back about 200 rpm then it picks up and its ok till the next time you slightely increas the rev's, might not notice this if you stab the accelerator, only seems to be on moderate increase in throttle conditions
