Ive just cooked the battery in my w202, have now replaced the battery and ive no revs, on a good rev get no more than 2000rpm, car can hardly move. Is there a sensor or something thats went, the engine is also very warm?
Any ideas.. sensors, filters, something more major??

Thanks

Try this, nothing to lose.....

Turn on the ignition (the position before 'cranking') and leave it on for 5 minutes......then start the engine after 5 minutes.

it is possible your maf is shot, and that previously your ecu had adapted as best it could to compensate. disconnecting the battery resets self-adaptation, and suddenly the ecu struggles to keep things going at all. if so it would possibly re-adapt over time, but i doubt it.

so, you need it plugging in rag1873.

Ive tried disconnecting the maf - makes no difference. ive tried leaving it for 5 mins etc as suggested - no difference.
It still starts but just loses revs and cuts out straight away, after doing it maybe 12 times, when the engine is getting warm it sits and ticks over as normal but then as soon as i use the accelerator or select drive it just dies again!

Any suggestions?

Think its one for the scrappy then - ive just mot it for a year too! Can do without the hassle of towing it to garages and having to shell out for it to be fixed.
Dont think i'll be buying another merc again!!

Ring Paul and ask what he suggests 01475 741236---he may even have an answer as to how to get it running?
