Yes when Koenigsegg first put in the bid he was accused of not knowing anything about mass production,,his reply was that he could buy that info in,,so soon a SAAB with a 0 to 60 time of 2.2 sec

I have always had a soft spot for a degree of quirkiness in a car. Thinking mainly of some of the Citroen models. Was just yesterday that I spotted a beautiful Series 1 CX for sale. Really a sight to behold.

I think SAAB's downfall was building rebadged Vectra's, all they could do with GM owning them. Maybe now they can get back to how they used to build cars, there is market for anything that is not Ford or Vauxhall and slightly different from the norm.

I agree with you there, hopefully Saab can become a true rival to the Germans, by adding that dash of Swedish character to their cars, and being a true alternative. And I have all the respect for the German cars, but I like it when there are strong competitors gunning for the mid to executive sedan market. Cars like the Citroen C6, Peugeot 408(very excited about this one) and others by Jaguar, Volvo, etc

So here is hoping that Saab can play along with all of them.

"There are three kinds of lies: lies, damned lies, and statistics."

This statement refers to the persuasive power of numbers, the use of statistics to bolster weak arguments.

Ah. we all enjoy Disraeli.

But they aren't stats, but actual sales. Even Disraeli wouldn't have argued about that.

When did you last buy a new Saab?

I would never buy a Vauxhall, so up till now that has excluded SAAB's as well.
Depending on the direction they take now, that could change in the future.

PS Disraeli never came up with that line, it was most likely Charles Wentworth Dilke (1843-1911).
