Have spent some of drizzly Sunday afternoon browsing roadtestreports.co.uk arrived at via a JD Power website, which has one of the biggest owner reviews sections I have come across. This was partly to assure myself that
I was right to go for MB A Class rather than (really only slightly) cheaper alternatives.

Am convinced. Horror stories abound. Inevitably lots of problems are explored on this MB Owners site, but nothing like the eye-popping grisly stories which abound elsewhere. V subjective but Toyota and Renault owners particularly savage.

Take heart!

Its been hard going this year due to the lousy weather,,I can only work on it when the sun shines as both doors have to be open to do the next batch of things

Here’s what J.D Power said: -

Rating 81.1%
Overall ranking 28th=
”The A-Class ran a very close second to the Corolla Verso. It seems Mercedes has got its act together on the reliability front and, like the Toyota, it performed extremely well in this area.

Interior build quality proved to be the A-Class's major strength - owners reported no nasty niggles, rattles or glitches. Heating and ventilation systems, the stereo and the seats also got the thumbs-up, and the engine and transmission proved to be strong.

The A-Class scored highest for exterior styling. On the downside, owners felt costs of service and repair were too steep.”
