Hi, I am in the process of finding out why my seat belt extenders are not functioning. I need to remove the side trim panels. Does anyone have a parts diagram or description of how to remove the trim panel please? I attach a photo of progress so far.

Thanks Malcolm. e-mail address is set up in my profile.
The car is relatively new to me and neither extender works at all.

Hi, I now have the passenger side extender mechanism out of the car. The motor works but the plastic gear and extending arm are worn to excess and need replacement. I doubt if this will turn out to be the only issue but does anyone know if spare parts are available anywhere?
Thanks.

the gear wear is very common, hence me asking 'do they make any noise'. sadly you will find MB unable to supply just the gears.

Here's an update for what it is worth. I exposed both seat belt feeders and the single controller for the car. I need to repair or replace the passenger side feeder mechanism due to the worn gear. I need to replace the related plastic rod that extends out from the mechanism. The controller is situated in a well under the rear seat. It appears to have water damage and I guess also needs replacement. To replace with new from MB will be £305, £55 and £165 all plus VAT respectively. In my view this would not be 'economic'. I guess I am going to have to hunt around for used parts. 'Not the worst thing that could happen I suppose. I attach photos in case anyone can offer any advice.
Cheers.

Pleased that you are getting somewhere,,though the price for parts is silly. I presume that the parts are handed looking at the picture. So Alexander was spot on here.

One from a breaker in the USA would be more worn.

The motor mechanisms are handed, but of course the motors, gears and switches are the same for both sides. This model has a single controller whereas some have a controller for each side mounted on the mechanism.
