SL55 AMG with F1 Performance Pack
l've got a 2004 SL55 AMG with the FI Performance Package which means uprated brakes (390mm rotors & 'better' discs).

l'm thinking about replacing the pads due to low speed/crawling in traffic squealing. l've already posted on this forum about curing it, but with no luck so now l'm considering changing the pads, but to what?

Do l go for MB genuine items or EBC Greenstuff or another brand?

Also, how do l go about finding part numbers as l believe they are 8 pots?

Any tips welcome - already tried deglazing the pads and applying copper slip/grease and they have been looked at by two MB dealers and a good indie.

Please don't tell me they 'all' do it and l'll have to live with it.

l'm not looking to upgrade the brakes as they're awesome as they are, it's just the squealing noise.

I have the EBC on my single pot calipers, I had squeal in reverse for the first 100 miles,,then it all went away.

these thing are always better if they are bedded in slowly if you can.

They don't all do it.

So maybe if l did replace them and bedded them in correctly/slowly it might cure it?

Would EBC Green be quieter than Red or Yellow do you think?

The red are a performance ceramic pad,,very good stopping power but can wear the disc more,, they make a re assuring sound. I know nothing about the yellow

l'm tempted to see if EBC do the Greenstuff for my particular model as it's 'quietness' l'm looking for.
