Close enough. Bigger thread on the other site, but looking like at least £2k for the bags, F knows what for the body work. Probably near £10k, and it still won't be right.

I am concerned as there may be chassis damage, (air bags don't deploy for nothing) so its a fairly serious shunt and the car, IMHO doesn't look a lot different than a 204 after its been NCAPed.

My fear is that a stealership may well retail this car, such is its nice spec, and low miles.

i know ford airbags used to cost around £1k each to put back to rights with the new seatbelt tensioners etc and thats blown both knee bags, both head bags, hence my guess of £6k! and then the body. and it will cost as much to buy and repair, if not more, than the car is worth!

I get you now with the £6k. Economically unviable to repair. What a waste of a lovely motor.

204 with a 250cdi engine with lots of goodies would get my nod.

or to hell with it, with decent numbers a C63 with an LSD and a driving course to teach me how to tame the beast

the right numbers, a C63, an empty carpark and a direct line to michelin would do the trick for me! clarkson ruined the rear tyres on a C63 in spain in 35 miles. why didnt he take the brick out from under the pedal? im sure i could waste them in less!

As I said on the 'other side', would most likely have been a ex-rental, as it would have been part of a self insured fleet to be not recorded. Problem with that means is the next buyer will have no idea of the damage it had so...lets hope once the car has been repaired, any prospective purchasers of YE09 DVT get to see this thread

There was another one in similar condition on Detling Hill, Kent tonight. This one was black on a 59 plate (ouch) and was the meat in the sandwich. The ambulance and fire service were in attendance, hopefully nobody was seriously hurt.

would this not show up on AA car data check?

Are there other data checks that are more comprehensive? Although the AA 5 car check for £25 is the cheapest I can find ...
